Denver Tween Photographer- Red Rocks Session

Tween.

Have you heard this? For me, this is a new term. I don’t know if I was just out of the loop or what, but I never heard the term “tween” growing up. (Oh crap, my age is showing) But I began to think about that age group and what it was like for me. No really. Stop and think for a second about when you were 10 to 13 years old. Awful right! I may get brave one day and add a portrait of myself when I was this age, maybe. But for now, I’m leaving it to your imagination. Huge glasses, horrible haircut (complete with side bangs) awkward, lanky and complete absence of confidence. I remember entering the lunch room and NEVER looking up. Oh and did I mention I had resting bitch face… so everyone that didn’t talk to me assumed I was mean. Now that you have this painted, I am sure you are thinking back to yourself. Sorry to have brought that pain up.

Then it hit me.

What if I could start photographing tweens, but *lightbulb* bring out their confidence! My goal is to give these kiddos a beautiful portrait that captures exactly how the rest of the world sees them. Beautiful, innocent, powerful, smart and fun.

Here is my most recent tween session with Hannah. Let me just say this girl is spunky. She has so much energy and it just exudes from every pore. When asked to describe herself, she confidently answered smart, fun and creative. Wow. I hope that she can look back on this as she enters middle school and beyond and see what we see. Just for Hannah- Never forget what you screamed in the middle of the road during a snow storm. Because you truly are.

Here’s to hopefully many more of these tween sessions in the future. Ready to book your session?
