Dance photography session… yes please!

I have been lucky enough to photograph little Alexis for several years and was beyond excited when her mom contacted me to take her dance portraits. Of course my brain immediately went crazy with ideas! Her 1st gymnastics meet is in a couple weeks and her ballet recital is coming up so why not do both outfits for this year. I couldn’t believe as she started moving around in the studio how incredibly talented she is. She has no spine! And I swear she has more muscle in one of her arms than both of mine. This was so much fun photographing this beautiful and talented girl. I cannot wait to see how far she goes with her talent.

We began inside the studio with gymnastics and with a quick outfit change went right into ballet. I asked her do simply dance her routine for the recital and the images were just amazing. Lots of laughter and goofing around, but a ton of beautiful soft times too. And just before we left to do some outdoor poses I asked her to throw on one of the maternity skirts I have in the studio. Of course she swam in it but again, the end result is exactly what lived in my head. I love when that happens.

Do you have a little dancer in your life that would love to have a session with me? Let’s chat!

  1. What a cute little dancer! She’s crazy flexible. I love the shots of her dancing outside, it looks so fun. Your black and whites are so passionate. I think these will be an amazing treasure both for Alexis and her family.

  2. Holy smokes, she is cuuuute! I love that you were able to take her outside for some dreamy light… Beautiful dance photographs!!
